Our therapy team

The Arbors’ therapy team consists of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. Whether you have been injured in a fall or are recovering from a stroke, our experienced, caring team of rehabilitation professionals individualize treatment based on physical limitations, abilities and recovery goals. Our therapists and pathologists utilize a variety of hands-on modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and cold laser and ice therapies, during the rehabilitation process.

State of the Art gym

Our state-of-the-art gym is equipped with Biodex medical and exercise systems to increase mobility and balance. We are the only short-term rehabilitation center in Amarillo with Biodex. We also perform home assessments to ensure our patients’ homes are adequately designed for their safety and continued recovery.

Occupational Therapy

Regaining day-to-day skills

Our professional therapists help patients regain the physical skills needed to function safely and independently at home, at work, and during other daily activities. To achieve these goals, our occupational therapists:

  • Perform ADL (Activities of Daily Living ) apartment assessments

  • Maximize independence with activities of daily living

  • Increase independence and safety within a home-like setting

  • Educate on the use of adaptive equipment

  • Educate on modifications

  • Offer compensatory strategies

  • Perform splinting

Speech Therapy

Restoring functionality and clarity

When injury or surgery results in speech, language, or swallowing disorders, our highly trained therapists evaluate and help restore speech clarity, improve cognitive functioning, and strengthen memory and problem-solving skills. We also teach patients swallowing techniques to help them safely drink and eat. Our speech pathologists specialize in:

  • Speech disorders

  • AMP Care (electrical stimulation for swallowing)
